Since living and owning Hunter Gleann in Pokolbin we have realised just how many activities are available in the Hunter Valley… Did I mention wine! With the July school holidays upon us, I thought I would compile your Hunter Valley holiday itineary.
Hunter Valley Gardens- Snowtime In The Gardens.
Because you are in the Hunter Valley, why can’t you enjoy snow activities? The biggest attraction for the family these July school holidays is Snow Time in the Gardens. If it’s ice skating, tobogganing or making a snowman in the snow, you can do it all at snowtime in the gardens. There are also other great rides, good food and drink stands as well as the beautiful gardens and the story book garden for the kids. This is day full of fun activities.
Hunter Valley Wildlife Park
The Hunter Valley Wildlife Park offers so much to see and adventures for the whole family. Getting up close and personal the wildlife is all part of the experience at Hunter Valley Wildlife Park. You can book in for encounters with a Lemar, Meerkat, Marmoset, Binturong or a Squirrel Monkey and for the older kids, maybe an encounter with a lion or feeding a Giraffe is more your style. You can do all this at Hunter Valley Wildlife Park. The Zoo is a safe refuge for many species and is a great way to see them in the purpose built enclosures and roaming ther park. By visiting Hunter Valley Wildlife Park you are contributing to their numerous bredding program to support endangered species.
Hunter Valley Adventure Centre
From Segways to horse riding, Pony rides to the petting zoo, the Hunter Valley Adventure Centre is a great stop for the family. While your there stop into The Farm for a Pizza, some Four Pines beer or do a wine tasting.
Sutton Estate Hunter Valley
If you want to give axe throwing a try, hit up the smash or escape from a chocolate room, Sutton Estate is the place to visit. Age restrictions may apply so please check before booking.
Aqua golf and putt putt
Located adjacent to the Hunter Valley Gardens. Spend the afternoon chasing a golf ball with the kids or try your luck at aqua golf and win prizes.
After putt putt why not take a stroll around the Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village, have a meal and watch the kids play in the fenced playground.
A lot of Pokolbin wineries are family friendly providing activities for the children while you taste some of the Hunter’s finest.
After a day of family fun, head back to Hunter Gleann, light the fire, open a bottle and enjoy watching the sun setting over the Brokenback Range.
